Principal of Absolute Linear Scale

The absolute linear scale is comprised of two distinct grating masks: the Absolute Grating Mask and the Incremental Grating Mask. Each mask serves a unique purpose: The Absolute Grating Mask features varied patterns across the entirety of the grating glass, providing low-resolution yet distinct position readings throughout the entire range of measurement.

The Incremental Grating Mask consists of repetitive, identical patterns across the entire grating glass. This configuration produces stable and high-quality electronic signals for signal interpolation, enabling extremely precise and high-resolution position measurements.
